CAP technology is poised to deliver a gross value added (GVA) of £356 billion ($462.9 billion) through savings and increased productivity. When these savings and productivity gains are combined, the total projected GVA contribution by 2050 reaches a formidable £417 billion ($542.2 billion). While about one-fifth of the UK’s existing construction plant already features some level of connectivity and autonomy, there is a need for broader acceptance and implementation of these technologies. Despite the promising prospects, industry stakeholders must proactively invest in and integrate CAP solutions to fully realize their potential benefits.

Autonomous equipment like compactors, excavators, bulldozers, and innovations such as 3D printing and AI robotics are already in use. However, for a more rapid and extensive positive impact, a paradigm shift in industry mindset is necessary.
