I have always had a fascination with spaces and how they affect people’s emotions and experiences. My journey began when I started experimenting with redesigning my own living space, which eventually blossomed into a full-fledged passion. The desire to create environments that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing is what continues to drive me in this field.
Where did the name “Lone Fox” come from and what does it represent to you and your brand?
“Lone Fox” symbolizes independence and creativity. It’s about forging your own path and bringing a unique perspective to the table. For the brand, it represents my dedication to crafting distinct and personalized designs that resonate with individuality and style.
What sources do you draw inspiration from for your vintage-inspired designs?
I draw a lot of inspiration from antique markets, historical architecture, and classic art pieces. The rich history and stories behind these elements offer a beautiful juxtaposition to modern design, which I love incorporating into my work.
How did the collaboration with Joon Loloi come about?
The collaboration with Joon Loloi was born out of mutual admiration. We both share a passion for quality craftsmanship and timeless design. We connected over these values and decided to merge our visions to create something truly special.
What was the creative process like for developing the Lone Fox x Joon Loloi collection?
It was an exciting and collaborative process. We started by identifying key themes and inspirations, such as antique tapestries and vintage textiles. From there, we delved into design development, meticulously crafting each piece to ensure it honored our vision while remaining functional and appealing to today’s consumer.
Can you give us an overview of the types of products included in the collection?
The collection includes a range of beautiful rugs and throw pillows. These items are designed to add a touch of vintage charm to any space, with each piece featuring intricate patterns and textures inspired by historical tapestries and antique finds.
What are some of your favorite pieces from the collection and why?
One of my favorites is the Hollyhock Printed Rug. It’s directly inspired by a 17th-century Belgian tapestry in my living room, which gives it a deeply personal connection. I also love the Culver Rug for its intricate pattern that reminds me of antique tiles, and the Reseda Printed Rug for its rich, nature-inspired design.
How did you decide on the mix of rugs and throw pillows for this capsule?
We wanted to offer a mix of items that could complement each other in any home setting. Rugs and throw pillows are versatile pieces that can easily update the look of a room. By offering a variety of styles and sizes, we aimed to provide something suitable for every taste and space.
How important is the old-meets-new aesthetic in your designs, and how do you balance these elements?
The old-meets-new aesthetic is central to my designs. Balancing these elements involves careful selection and integration. It’s about juxtaposing modern lines and functionality with classic, time-honored details in a way that feels cohesive and harmonious.
Can you tell us more about the specific antique tapestries and other vintage inspirations that influenced this collection?
Many of the designs are influenced by antique tapestries and vintage fabrics I’ve collected over the years. For instance, the Hollyhock Printed Rug was inspired by a beautiful tapestry in my own collection. These pieces bring a sense of history and story to the collection, which I feel is very important.
The collection supports the rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles after the wildfires. Can you tell us more about why this cause is important to you?
Supporting the rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles after the wildfires is deeply personal to me. As a member of this community, I’ve witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the fires. It is important for me and my brand to give back and help those affected by contributing to the recovery process.
How do you see your brand giving back to the community in the future?
Going forward, I hope to continue integrating philanthropic efforts into my brand’s mission. Whether through collaborations that benefit charitable causes or direct initiatives, giving back to the community will always be a core value of Lone Fox.
Why was it important for you to include washable rugs in this collection?
Including washable rugs was crucial because practicality is just as important as aesthetics. Customers today value items that are easy to maintain without sacrificing style. Washable rugs offer convenience and longevity, making them a smart choice for any home.
Can you explain the options available for pillow inserts and how customers might choose between them?
We offer two types of pillow inserts: poly-filled and down-filled. Poly-filled inserts provide a more structured look and feel, making them great for decorative purposes. Down-filled inserts, on the other hand, are softer and more relaxed, offering a cozy and comfortable alternative.
