CAGBC Introduces ZCB Program to Boost Low-Carbon Building Knowledge

In an ambitious effort to advance the knowledge and capabilities of building professionals concerning decarbonization, the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) has rolled out the Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Essentials micro-credentialing program. This initiative is specifically designed to address the increasing need for expertise in low-carbon building techniques and strategies in the construction industry. The ZCB Essentials program integrates key insights from the CAGBC’s existing Zero Carbon Building Standards, providing a robust framework for understanding zero-carbon principles and establishing a comprehensive lexicon for these critical topics.

The ZCB Essentials program includes various educational components aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of industry professionals. Among these is an “Introduction to the Zero Carbon Building Standards” webinar, a suite of on-demand courses, and interactive workshops scheduled throughout the fall. These resources are meticulously crafted to offer both foundational knowledge and practical insights essential for implementing zero-carbon methodologies in building projects across Canada.
