Epsilon Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd is planning to construct a synthetic graphite anode manufacturing plant in Brunswick County. The project scope includes construction of 1.5 million sq ft of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of storage vessels and structural steel; and purchase and installation of raw material receiving, handling and storage systems, sintering furnaces, and grinding, classifying, deagglomeration, carbon coating, mechanical treatment, thermal purification and loadout equipment. Initially, the plant will have the capacity to produce 30,000 metric tons of synthetic graphite anodes per year for use in electric vehicle batteries.
