Labor shortages cause serious problems for the construction industry, and globally, they are only getting worse. The problem is demographic and systemic and will not be affected by momentary economic dips or corrections.
The scale of the problem even in a developed, mature market like the United States is significant: there were 404,000 open construction positions in the United States late last year, according to National Association of Homebuilders analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
