Fidelis New Energy LLC is planning to construct a 200-MW biomass-fired power plant, the Cyclus Steam and Power plant, in Port Allen. Scope includes construction of a building; installation of a bubbling fluidized bed boiler and an oxy-combustion unit; and purchase and installation of biomass receiving equipment. Babcock & Wilcox and Kiewit Corp. have been selected to provide process technology, some major equipment and EPC services for the project. The plant will provide power for Grön Fuels’ proposed renewable diesel and hydrogen plant at the site, and carbon dioxide will be captured and sequestrated by Capio Sequestration LLC.
